deep thoughts

From a Wise man’s weblog

Evil, am I ?

How do you recognize that point when you have stopped being a caring person and have become an insensitive prick?

When do people start perceiving you as something you are not? And why?

What is right and what is wrong? And do I get to decide it?

In the most recessed part of your soul, there’s an asshole residing. Waiting to take over your life at the slightest of slip-ups.

Even if you do realize this, can you do something about it?

When do you start becoming arrogant? Are you?

Where has that innocence gone? Where?

Why have we started caring so much? Like our life depended on it.

Do I hate you? Nah.

Do you hate me? I am sure you have every reason to.

I thought I was good. Now, I am not so sure.

No, I am not looking for pity. No, I am not regretful of who I am. It’s about self-discovery. To look at your dark side and not be fettered. No, I am not going to change anything. I can’t. Nobody can change oneself. No, you can’t. Don’t even try.

Am I evil? I think so.

dee lay

Sorry for the sudden drop in frequency of weblog posts. Life has never been more event-packed, and there's so much stuff that I'd probably have to write out 3-4 huge entries to tell you about it. So that's what I'm going to do. The reader is requested to wait till then.

While you're waiting, what you can do is look for a good gift to get me on my twentieth birthday. I mean, it's 7 days away - don't you think a guy moving out of his fun-filled teenage years needs some things to help him in this cruel Real World? Maybe the new Mercedes S Class... or a Gold plated Nokia Communicator...

stop. redesign.

This entry in Douglas Bowman's weblog is about how Douglas observes a fascinating optical illusion. This entry in my weblog is about how Douglas describes this entire experience in a single fascinating hundred and eighty eight word sentence.

towards a blog~wiki

Nilesh wrote about Wikis, and the need for keyword based browsing in a weblog. A discussion followed in the comments on that entry, and it seems there are quite a few people who like the Wiki concept, but are intimidated by usage.

Wikis are really useful for learning stuff, because of the way content is divided in to sizable, highly interlinked chunks of information. Jumping from one chunk to other is one action - a simple click. But for readers who want to "learn" stuff on a weblog, they do have the search engine at hand, but it's still too complex - yet another text box to fill, and a button to press.

upsaid implements Blogger API

David Wouters at Upsaid.com has finally implemented the XML-RPC API for weblogging for the service. This means you can now update your Upsaid.com weblog using BlogBuddy, wBloggar, or any other weblog app. Cool!

I had started this XML-RPC project a few months ago, but was too lazy to actually go on to complete it. David then redid the whole thing himself, complete with weblogs.com ping and the works. If you don't know about Upsaid, I really sugest you go and have a look.

MTBlogTimes

Fellow Indiblogger Nilesh Chaudhari has created a way-cool MTBlogTimes plugin for Movable Type that allows you to create an awesome time bar depicting the frequency distribution of your weblog posts. And it's looks really good on his blog too!

transported

Don't know what to do with that 5000 dollar bill that you've got lying around? Go pre-order a Segway Human Transporter! This much hyped, two wheeled wonder is scheduled to ship in March 2003. It appears amazon.com is the sole seller for the product.

things that make you go hmmm...

Two weeks after releasing this site to the general public, the Googlebot has paid a visit. It indexed my site for 2 days, and now this site is in the Google search results. The first search term that brought people to my site is tughlaqabad fort.

While I was studying Google's indexing of this site, I've discovered that the word "arnab" means two things: It's a name; and it's a word in Somalian or some other African language (like I had guessed in a previous weblog entry). What I'd really like to know is what "arnab" means in Somalian.

what's cool

I was reading Jason Kottke's weblog today, and happened to click on the "More Sites" tab in the Not recommended at all area. It expanded to a longer list, with another dropdown!! oh goody!
