The 2006 ACM Fellows were announced recently, it’s great to see many familiar names on the list; whose research work I’ve read and enjoyed:

• Surajit Chaudhuri: DBExplorer(BANKS competitor), and a bunch of other DB/IR stuff.
• Gerhard Weikum: Loads of algo stuff, lurrve his probabilistic Fagin merge paper!
• Jennifer Widom: Personalized PageRank, Topic-sensitive PageRank, amongst other things.

In case you were wondering, my advisor is an ACM Fellow too :)
